Our CEO, Thea, recognized this frustration firsthand. Like many others, her shelves overflowed with half-used products that promised results but failed to deliver. Years were spent searching for the perfect solution, products that truly addressed the unique needs of her hair.
This experience sparked an innovative idea: a personalized approach to hair care. As a Software Engineer, Thea envisioned an AI-powered platform that could analyze individual hair features and find the perfect match based on their hair's unique needs. This vision became Compar, your personal hair care assistant, accessible anywhere, anytime.

Meet Thea Larsen
Our Founder and CEO
M.S. in Computer Science
Don't be fooled by the title - Thea is a self-proclaimed computer nerd at heart. You'll find her in the back tackling complex algorithms and in the front designing IT solutions.
This dual expertise is what makes her a visionary leader in the BeautyTech space. Her journey began at 11, coding a website about... herself and her rabbit (we've all got our quirks!).
This early fascination with technology grew alongside another: A love for hair care.
As Thea matured, these two different passions began to converge. She saw the potential for technology to revolutionize the beauty industry, offering personalized and efficient hair care solutions. This vision is what ultimately led her to found Compar, a #beautytech company that merges these two worlds.

With the founding team’s background, Compar wants to empower women in tech by showing them that IT can be attractive and that they are wanted. Compar takes a stand for action by combining a typical “neglected woman” industry like beauty with IT, contributing to the evolvement of BeautyTech and female IT role models.

Compar is an objective machine finding your perfect match using emerging and newest technologies such as AI and machine learning. At Compar, we will retain the objectivity of the machine, meaning no financial aspect will influence the output of the machine, as we want to promise you a 100% honest match, always. We believe it’s time for an industry flip, instead of you trying to find the perfect match, the perfect match finds you.
Sustainability
Consumers can buy several beauty products before they find “the one”, and the rest end up in the trash. Many centuries later, the hairspray that didn’t give the desired volume is decomposed or a turtle has suffocated in it... Compar wants to fight this unnecessary consumption and waste by creating predictive analytics for the industry. We need to take care of our earth, as we take care of ourselves #savetheturtles.
