What is Natural Hair Journey?
Much like you can be “vegan” with your dietary choices, you can choose to be “natural” with your hair care.
Compar introduces your Natural Hair Journey (NHJ). A hair care method with the goal of embracing your natural hair and catering your care for it, e.g. by avoiding damaging ingredients.
Where does NHJ come from?
The process of “going natural” historically refers to black people (or African American women) transitioning from relaxed hair to their natural hair.
One of the most known branches from this is called Curly Girl Method (CGM). A hair care method designed by author Lorraine Massey in 2011 for wavy, curly and coily hair - that has not been chemically relaxed. This method discourages the daily use of sulfates, silicones, waxes, and drying alcohols among other things, which is considered too harsh for curly hair. Instead, followers of the method should wash their hair with a conditioner, also known as cowash.
Now, we introduce a modern and updated version of CGM: Natural Hair Journey (NHJ). Embracing all types of hair, genders, the latest science and your hair features.
